Charging application service providers coupled to wireless communications networks

A network node for wireless communication, comprising:

• at least one memory;
• and
• at least one processor coupled with the at least one memory and configured to cause the network node to:
• receive a subscription for charging notifications for one or more application services of an application service provider;
• derive charging analytics for the one or more application services from recorded data, the charging analytics comprising a prediction of the charging of the application service provider for use of a wireless communications network in a service area by the one or more application services of the application service provider;
• and
• determine an automated charging trigger configuration for charging the application service provider for use of the wireless communications network based on derived charging analytics.

A method performed by a network node, the method comprising:

• receiving a subscription for charging notifications for one or more application services of an application service provider;
• deriving charging analytics for the one or more application services from recorded data, the charging analytics comprising a prediction of the charging of the application service provider for use of a wireless communications network in a service area by the one or more application services of the application service provider;
• and
• determining an automated charging trigger configuration for charging the application service provider for use of the wireless communications network based on derived charging analytics.

A processor for wireless communication, comprising:

• at least one controller coupled with at least one memory and configured to cause the processor to:
• receive a subscription for charging notifications for one or more application services of an application service provider;
• derive charging analytics for the one or more application services from recorded data, the charging analytics comprising a prediction of the charging of the application service provider for use of a wireless communications network in a service area by the one or more application services of the application service provider;
• and
• determine an automated charging trigger configuration for charging the application service provider for use of the wireless communications network based on derived charging analytics.

A network node for wireless communication, comprising:

• at least one memory;
• and
• at least one processor coupled with the at least one memory and configured to cause the network node to:
• receive a service agreement and a machine learning model;
• generate, based at least in part on the service agreement and the machine learning model, an automated charging policy;
• initiate, based at least in part on the automated charging policy, a charging analytics service;
• detect an automated charging trigger event associated with the automated charging policy;
• and
• execute, based at least in part on the automated charging trigger event, an automated trigger action.
