Abstract
Provided are a storage system including a host and a storage device and a method of operating the storage system. The method includes, when a response time of the storage device is greater than a threshold time, stopping, by the storage system, a previous mode and entering a recovery mode, when a state of a connection between the host device and the storage device is a link down state, resetting, by the storage system, the connection between the host device and the storage device, transmitting, by the host device, a recovery signal to the storage device, and performing, by the storage device, storage recovery.
Claims20
An operation method of a storage system, wherein the storage system comprises a host device and a storage device including a plurality of non-volatile memories, the method comprising:
- based on a response time of the storage device being greater than a threshold time, terminating a previous mode of the storage device and setting the storage system to a recovery mode;
- based on a state of a connection between the host device and the storage device being a link down state, resetting, by the storage system, the connection between the host device and the storage device;
- transmitting, by the host device, a recovery signal to the storage device;
- and
- performing, by the storage device, storage recovery based on receiving the recovery signal.
A storage system comprising:
- a host device;
- and
- a storage device comprising a plurality of non-volatile memories,
- wherein the storage system is configured to stop a previous mode and enter a recovery mode based on a response time of the storage device being greater than a threshold time,
- wherein, based on a state of a connection between the host device and the storage device being a link down state, the host device is configured to
- resets the connection between the host device and the storage device, and
- transmit a recovery signal to the storage device, and
- wherein the storage device is configured to perform storage recovery based on receiving the recovery signal.
An operation method of a host device, the method comprising:
- based on a response time of a storage device being greater than a threshold time, stopping, by the host device, a previous mode of a storage system and setting the storage system to a recovery mode, wherein the storage system comprises the host device and the storage device, and wherein the storage device comprises a plurality of non-volatile memories;
- based on a state of a connection between the host device and the storage device being a link down state, resetting, by the host device, the connection between the host device and the storage device;
- and
- transmitting a recovery signal from the host device to the storage device, the recovery signal configured to cause the storage device to perform storage recovery.
