Abstract
A snapshot of a bucket is generated that includes corresponding object versions of objects stored in the bucket. A read-only copy of the bucket is generated using the snapshot that includes the corresponding object versions of the objects. The generation of the read-only copy of the bucket prevents deletion of the snapshot.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- generating, by a processing device, a snapshot of a bucket that includes corresponding object versions of a plurality of objects stored in the bucket;
- and
- generating a read-only copy of the bucket using the snapshot that comprises the corresponding object versions of the plurality of objects, wherein generation of the read-only copy of the bucket prevents deletion of the snapshot.
A storage system comprising:
- a storage device;
- and
- a processing device, operatively coupled to the storage device, configured to:
- generate a snapshot of a bucket of the storage device that includes corresponding object versions of a plurality of objects stored in the bucket;
- and
- generate a read-only copy of the bucket using the snapshot that comprises the corresponding object versions of the plurality of objects, wherein generation of the read-only copy of the bucket prevents deletion of the snapshot.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a processing device to:
- generate a snapshot of a bucket that includes corresponding object versions of a plurality of objects stored in the bucket;
- and
- generating a read-only copy of the bucket using the snapshot that comprises the corresponding object versions of the plurality of objects, wherein generation of the read-only copy of the bucket prevents deletion of the snapshot.
