Abstract
A request to read data from a storage system is received. One of an interruptible write operation or an interruptible erase operation being performed on flash memory of the storage system are paused by a storage system controller. A read operation for the request to read the data is performed. The one of the interruptible write operation or interruptible erase operation are resumed.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- receiving a request to read data from a storage system;
- pausing, by a processing device of a storage system controller, one of an interruptible write operation or an interruptible erase operation being performed on flash memory of the storage system;
- performing a read operation for the request to read the data;
- and
- resuming the one of the interruptible write operation or interruptible erase operation.
A storage system, comprising:
- a plurality of storage devices comprising flash memory;
- and
- a storage system controller comprising a processing device configured to:
- receive a request to read data from a storage system;
- pause one of an interruptible write operation or an interruptible erase operation being performed on the flash memory of the storage system;
- perform a read operation for the request to read the data;
- and
- resume the one of the interruptible write operation or interruptible erase operation.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a processing device of a storage system controller to:
- receive a request to read data from a storage system;
- pause one of an interruptible write operation or an interruptible erase operation being performed on flash memory of the storage system;
- perform a read operation for the request to read the data;
- and
- resume the one of the interruptible write operation or interruptible erase operation.
