Abstract
A synthetic expression regulator for a plant gene is disclosed, related to a phenotypic trait of male sterility, and a process for producing male sterile plants using synthetic regulators and use thereof for breeding hybrid crop varieties.

A synthetic expression regulator of a plant gene related to a phenotypic trait of male sterility containing a protein having a protein DNA binding domain of the plant gene related to a phenotypic trait of male sterility and a protein activator or repressor domain for the transcription process of the gene linked with the former, wherein the protein DNA binding domain forms a complex with an RNA molecule having a sequence complementary to the element that controls expression of the sterility gene.
