ZrO2 DISPERSION LIQUID

A method for producing a ZrO2 dispersion liquid containing a ZrO2 particle coated with a silane coupling agent, comprising:

• mixing a ZrO2 particle with a dispersion medium for the ZrO2 particle, an average primary particle size of the ZrO2 particle being 3.0 nm or more and 20.0 nm or less;
• and
• reacting the ZrO2 particle with the silane coupling agent in the obtained mixture,
• wherein the reaction of the ZrO2 particle with the silane coupling agent is carried out until a BET specific surface area of the ZrO2 particle coated with the silane coupling agent obtained by removing the dispersion medium from the mixture during the reaction reaches 36% or more of a BET specific surface area of the ZrO2 particle before coating with the silane coupling agent.
