Abstract
TTBK enzyme inhibitors of formula (I) are used for the treatment and/or prevention of tauopathies, such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), and/or TDP-43 pathologies, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). R1 is selected from H and NH2, X is selected from O, S, CO and CH2O, R2, R3 and R4 are independently selected from: H, halogen, CF3, CN, NO2, NH2, C1-C3 alkyl and —O—C1-C3 alkyl. At least one of R2, R3 and R4 are H.

A method for the treatment and/or prevention of tauopathies and/or TDP-43 diseases in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject a compound of formula (I), any of the isomers thereof or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof

- R1 is selected from H and NH2,
- X is selected from O, S, CO and CH2O,
- R2, R3 and R4 are independently selected from:
- H, halogen, CF3, CN, NO2, NH2, C1-C3 alkyl and —O—C1-C3 alkyl,
- and wherein at least one of R2, R3 and R4 is H.
A compound of formula (I)
- or any of the isomers thereof or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, wherein
- R1 is selected from H and NH2,
- X is selected from O, S, CO and CH2O,
- R2, R3 and R4 are independently selected from:
- H, halogen, CF3, CN, NO2, NH2, C1-C3 alkyl and —O—C1-C3 alkyl,
- and wherein at least one of R2, R3 and R4 are H, provided that the compound is neither of the following two:
