A method of preparing a compound of Formula (I)
- or salt thereof, comprising
- converting a compound of Formula (III)
- to a compound of Formula (IV)
- and coupling the compound of Formula (IV) with a compound of Formula (IX)
- or a salt thereof to yield the compound of Formula (I) with less than 2% of a compound of Formula (XI)
- produced as a byproduct, wherein
- R1 and R2 are each independently hydrogen or C1 to C4 alkyl;
- R3 is NH2, or OH;
- R4 is NH2 or CH2—NH—R5;
- R5 is hydrogen, cyclopropyl or —CH2— substituted by —CH2OCH3, —CF2, —CF3, 3-pyridinyl or 4-pyridinyl;
- and
- R6 is —NHC(O)OC(CH3)3 or —OC(CH3)3.
