Abstract
Described herein are epinephrine salts, specifically the epinephrine malonate salt; the epinephrine malonate salt in crystalline form; a pharmaceutical composition comprising epinephrine malonate; a sublingual or buccal pharmaceutical composition comprising epinephrine malonate in crystalline form; and a method for treating a patient comprising administering a pharmaceutical composition of epinephrine malonate in crystalline form.
Claims19
A method of treating a patient suffering from an allergic condition, said method comprising:
- administering a pharmaceutical composition comprising an epinephrine malonate salt to said patient;
- wherein the epinephrine malonate salt is in a crystalline form characterized by an x-ray powder diffraction spectrum (copper, K-alpha-1) having one or more peaks expressed as 2 theta at about 12.1843, 13.4653, 14.2595, 14.6991, 15.8664, 17.3570, 17.9004, 19.5883, 20.4659, 21.5801, 22.3908, 22.9301, 23.8776, 24.6585, 25.3418, 26.0105, 26.4829, 25.3418, 26.0105, 26.4829, 27.2385, 27.8939, 29.4741, 33.2425, 34.2629, 34.8439.
A method of treating a patient suffering from anaphylaxis, said method comprising:
- administering a pharmaceutical composition comprising an epinephrine malonate salt to said patient;
- wherein the epinephrine malonate salt is in a crystalline form characterized by an x-ray powder diffraction spectrum (copper, K-alpha-1) having one or more peaks expressed as 2 theta at about 12.1843, 13.4653, 14.2595, 14.6991, 15.8664, 17.3570, 17.9004, 19.5883, 20.4659, 21.5801, 22.3908, 22.9301, 23.8776, 24.6585, 25.3418, 26.0105, 26.4829, 25.3418, 26.0105, 26.4829, 27.2385, 27.8939, 29.4741, 33.2425, 34.2629, 34.8439.
