Abstract
A liquid discharge apparatus includes a substrate having a discharge port face provided with a discharge port for discharging a liquid, a member having a recessed portion for storing the substrate, a sealing material for sealing a gap between the recessed portion of the member and the substrate, a wiping member configured to wipe the discharge port face, and an application member configured to apply oil to the sealing material.

A liquid discharge apparatus comprising:
- a substrate having a discharge port face provided with a discharge port for discharging a liquid;
- a member having a recessed portion for storing the substrate;
- a sealing material for sealing a gap between the recessed portion of the member and the substrate;
- a wiping member configured to wipe the discharge port face;
- and
- an application member configured to apply oil to the sealing material.

A method for cleaning a discharge port face of a liquid discharge apparatus comprising:
- a substrate having a discharge port face provided with a discharge port for discharging a liquid;
- a member having a recessed portion for storing the substrate;
- a sealing material for sealing a gap between the recessed portion of the member and the substrate;
- a wiping member configured to wipe the discharge port face;
- and
- an application member configured to apply oil to the sealing material, wherein the method comprises:
- first applying for applying the oil from the application member to the sealing material;
- and
- wiping the discharge port face by using the wiping member.
