Abstract
In one embodiment according to the present invention, a stent is described having a generally cylindrical body formed from a single woven nitinol wire. The distal and proximal ends of the stent include a plurality of loops, some of which include marker members used for visualizing the position of the stent. In another embodiment, the previously described stent includes an inner flow diverting layer.
Claims21
(canceled)
A stent, comprising:
- a first plurality of wires having a first diameter;
- and,
- a second plurality of wires having a second diameter that is smaller than the first diameter;
- wherein the first plurality of wires and the second plurality of wires are braided into a single layer tubular structure, are braided at a same braid angle, and are braided with a same braid pattern;
- and,
- wherein the braid pattern separates each of the first plurality of wires with a plurality of the second plurality of wires.

A stent, comprising:
- a first plurality of wires having a first diameter;
- and,
- a second plurality of wires having a second diameter that is smaller than the first diameter;
- wherein the first plurality of wires and the second plurality of wires are braided into a single layer tubular structure and are braided at a same braid angle;
- and,
- wherein the first plurality of wires and the second plurality of wires are braided such that some of the second plurality of wires separates each of the first plurality of wires with a plurality of the second plurality of wires as part of a braid pattern.
3 more elements
A stent, comprising:
- a single layer tubular structure means for causing a first plurality of wires having a first diameter a second plurality of wires having a second diameter that is smaller than the first diameter to expand at about a same rate and length between a contracted state of the single layer tubular structure and an expanded state of the single layer tubular structure.
