Abstract
A method is provided for ascertaining material information pertaining to a material that is present in a region of interest of an examination subject, including an imaging x-ray device having an x-ray tube assembly, an x-ray detector, and a collimator for collimating an x-ray radiation field of the x-ray tube assembly. The method includes adjusting the collimator to acquire the region of interest only, acquiring a scattered radiation image in the collimator shadow on the x-ray detector, and evaluating the scattered radiation image in order to ascertain the material information.
Claims18
A method for ascertaining material information pertaining to a material present in a region of interest of an examination subject, comprising an imaging x-ray device having an x-ray tube assembly, an x-ray detector, and a collimator for collimating an x-ray radiation field of the x-ray tube assembly, the method comprising:
- adjusting, by a control device of the imaging x-ray device, the collimator to acquire the region of interest of the examination subject only;
- acquiring, by the control device, a scattered radiation image in a collimator shadow on the x-ray detector;
- and
- evaluating, by the control device of the imaging x-ray device, the scattered radiation image in order to ascertain the material information.
An x-ray device comprising:
- an x-ray tube assembly;
- an x-ray detector;
- a collimator configured to collimate an x-ray radiation field of the x-ray tube assembly;
- and
- a control device configured to:
- adjust the collimator to acquire a region of interest of an examination object only;
- acquire a scattered radiation image in a collimator shadow on the x-ray detector;
- and
- evaluate the scattered radiation image in order to ascertain material information pertaining to a material present in the region of interest of the examination subject.
A computer program that, when executed on a control device of an imaging x-ray device, causes the control device to:
- adjust a collimator of the imaging x-ray device to acquire a region of interest of an examination object only;
- acquire a scattered radiation image in a collimator shadow on an x-ray detector of the imaging x-ray device;
- and
- evaluate the scattered radiation image in order to ascertain material information pertaining to a material present in the region of interest of the examination subject.
