Abstract
A fusion splicer for fusing and splicing one or a plurality of optical fibers with another or other optical fibers includes a base member having one or a plurality of V-grooves in which the one or the plurality of optical fibers are set, and one or a plurality of recesses crossing the one or the plurality of V-grooves are formed in the base member.
