Display panel and method for manufacturing the same

A display panel comprising:

• a base layer in which an emission area and a peripheral area adjacent to the emission area are defined;
• an anode disposed on the base layer;
• a pixel defining film in which an emission opening portion exposing at least a portion of the anode and overlapping the emission area is defined;
• a partition wall disposed on the pixel defining film and in which a partition wall opening portion overlapping the emission opening portion is defined;
• an emission pattern disposed in the partition wall opening portion;
• and
• a cathode that is disposed in the partition wall opening portion and is in contact with the partition wall,
• wherein the partition wall comprises a tip portion protruding toward a center of the anode,
• wherein the tip portion comprises:
• a first tip portion inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to a top surface of the base layer;
• and
• a second tip portion extending from the first tip portion in a direction parallel to the top surface of the base layer.

A method for manufacturing a display panel, the method comprising:

• preparing a base layer in which an emission area and a peripheral area adjacent to the emission area are defined;
• forming, on the base layer, an insulation layer in which a groove overlapping the emission area is defined;
• forming an anode in the groove defined in the insulation layer;
• forming, on the insulation layer, a pixel defining film in which an emission opening portion overlapping the anode is defined;
• forming, on the pixel defining film, a partition wall in which a partition wall opening portion overlapping the emission opening portion is defined;
• forming an emission pattern comprising at least a portion disposed in the emission opening portion;
• and
• forming a cathode comprising at least a portion disposed in the partition wall opening portion, wherein the cathode is in contact with an inner side surface of the partition wall that defines the partition wall opening portion,
• wherein the insulation layer comprises an inner side surface configured to define the groove and inclined at a first angle with respect to a top surface of the base layer,
• wherein at least a portion of the partition wall has a shape extending along the inner side surface.
