Abstract
Embodiments disclose a display panel and a display device including the display panel. The display panel includes a first area in which a plurality of first pixels are disposed, a second area including a pixel area in which a plurality of second pixels are disposed and a plurality of light-transmitting areas disposed between the plurality of second pixels, and a polarizing plate including a plurality of first light-transmitting patterns disposed in the plurality of light-transmitting areas, wherein, in the polarizing plate, an area in which the first light-transmitting patterns are formed has a higher light transmittance than a remaining area in which the first light-transmitting patterns are not formed.
Claims15
A display panel comprising:
- a substrate including a first area in which a plurality of first pixels are disposed and a second area including a pixel area in which a plurality of second pixels are disposed and a plurality of light-transmitting areas disposed between the plurality of second pixels,
- wherein the first area includes:
- a thin-film transistor disposed on the substrate,
- a first planarization layer disposed on the thin-film transistor,
- a metal layer disposed on the first planarization layer,
- a second planarization layer disposed on the metal layer,
- a light emitting element including an anode disposed on the second planarization, a light emitting layer disposed on the anode, and a cathode disposed the light emitting layer,
- a capping layer disposed on the cathode, and
- an encapsulation layer disposed on the capping layer,
- wherein at least one of the first planarization layer, the second planarization layer, the capping layer, and the encapsulation layer extends to the second area,
- wherein the cathode includes a plurality of openings disposed on the second area, and
- wherein the substrate includes a first substrate, a second substrate and an intermedia layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate.
A display device comprising:
- A display panel comprising a substrate including a first area in which a plurality of first pixels are disposed and a second area including a pixel area in which a plurality of second pixels are disposed and a plurality of light-transmitting areas disposed between the plurality of second pixels;
- and
- at least one sensor disposed under the second area,
- wherein the first area includes:
- a thin-film transistor disposed on the substrate,
- a first planarization layer disposed on the thin-film transistor,
- a metal layer disposed on the first planarization layer,
- a second planarization layer disposed on the metal layer,
- a light emitting element including an anode disposed on the second planarization, a light emitting layer disposed on the anode, and a cathode disposed the light emitting layer,
- a capping layer disposed on the cathode, and
- an encapsulation layer disposed on the capping layer,
- wherein at least one of the first planarization layer, the second planarization layer, the capping layer, and the encapsulation layer extends to the second area,
- wherein the cathode includes a plurality of openings disposed on the second area, and
- wherein the substrate includes a first substrate, a second substrate and an intermedia layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate.
