An electronic device includes: a communication unit that performs communication with an external device; and a control unit that issues a command to the external device via the communication unit, on the basis of at least one of capacity of the external device, and capacity of the electronic device.

An electronic device comprising:
- an image sensor that captures an image;
- a communication unit comprising a circuit that communicates with an external device;
- and
- a controller that controls the image sensor and the communication unit, wherein:
- after communication between the communication unit and the external device is established, the controller transmits image data captured by the image sensor while the communication was not established to the external device via the communication unit.
