A musical instrument comprising:
- a frame comprising a base, a headstock and a neck positioned between the base and the headstock, the neck extending transverse to the base and the headstock, the base including spaced apart first and second transducer sets;
- a plurality of strings each including a first end coupled to the base and an opposite second end coupled to the headstock such that the strings extend non-parallel relative to the neck, the strings each extending across the neck such that the second ends of the strings are coupled to the base, the strings extending over the first transducer set and the second transducer set;
- and
- a nut configured to adjust a scale length of one or more of the strings.

- a plurality of strings each including a first end coupled to the base and an opposite second end coupled to the headstock such that the strings extend non-parallel relative to the neck, the strings each extending across the neck such that the second ends of the strings are directly coupled to the base, the strings extending over the first transducer set and the second transducer set;
- and
- a nut configured to adjust a scale length of one or more of the strings,
- wherein the first transducer set is vertically offset relative to the second transducer set, and
- wherein the strings each have a different length.
