Abstract
According to various embodiments, a wrist rest is provided. The wrist rest comprises a base structure, a plurality of light sources housed in the base structure and capable of emitting light, a light guide disposed over the plurality of light sources and configured to receive the light emitted from the plurality of light sources and release the light, and a cushion secured to the base structure and disposed over the light guide in a manner so as to conceal the plurality of light sources and the light guide between the base structure and the cushion. The cushion is configured to diffuse the light released from the light guide. Each light source is capable of selectively producing a plurality of lighting colours.

A wrist rest comprising:
- a base structure;
- a plurality of light sources housed in the base structure and capable of emitting light;
- a light guide disposed over the plurality of light sources, and configured to receive the light emitted from the plurality of light sources and release the light;
- and
- a cushion secured to the base structure and disposed over the light guide in a manner so as to conceal the plurality of light sources and the light guide between the base structure and the cushion, wherein the cushion is configured to diffuse the light released from the light guide,
- wherein each light source is capable of selectively producing a plurality of lighting colours.

A system, comprising:
- a wrist rest comprising:
- a base structure;
- a plurality of light sources housed in the base structure and capable of emitting light;
- a light guide disposed over the plurality of light sources, and configured to receive the light emitted from the plurality of light sources and release the light;
- and
- a cushion secured to the base structure and disposed over the light guide in a manner so as to conceal the plurality of light sources and the light guide between the base structure and the cushion, wherein the cushion is configured to diffuse the light released from the light guide;
- and
- an electronic device capable of communicating with the wrist rest and operable to transmit a wireless signal comprising information about a lighting profile to the wrist rest,
- wherein each light source is capable of selectively producing a plurality of lighting colours.
