Claims19
A connector for connecting to an ostomy appliance including:
- a conduit having an entrance and an exit connected by an internal passage through which waste from an ostomy appliance is permitted to flow, and
- a structural member including a filament, which extends along the passage, and a spanning formation that extends radially across an increased width of the passage.
A method of manufacturing a connector for connecting to an ostomy appliance:
- the connector including a conduit having an entrance and an exit connected by an internal passage through which waste from an ostomy appliance is permitted to flow, and a structural member which extends along a length of the passage,
- the method including the steps of:
- using a shaping tool to shape a portion of the conduit and structural member simultaneously such that the conduit and the structural member forms a second shape conforming to a profile of the shaping tool;
- and
- removing the shaping tool from the portion of the conduit and structural member, and where the structural member maintains the second shape.
