Abstract
Ablation systems and methods of the present disclosure include a catheter including one or more image sensors. The one or more image sensors can facilitate, for example, positioning an ablation electrode at a treatment site of an anatomic structure and, additionally or alternatively, can facilitate controlling delivery of therapeutic energy to a treatment site of an anatomic structure.
Claims20
A catheter system, comprising:
- a shaft including a proximal end portion and a distal end portion opposite the proximal end portion;
- an ablation electrode at the distal end portion of the shaft including a deformable portion, wherein the deformable portion of the ablation electrode is movable between a compressed state and an uncompressed state;
- and
- at least one image sensor within a volume at least partially defined by the ablation electrode or mounted to the deformable portion of the ablation electrode, and
- a catheter interface comprising one or more processors and a non-transitory, computer readable storage medium having stored thereon computer executable instructions for causing the one or more processors to at least:
- receive at least one image from the at least one image sensor representative of tissue of an anatomic structure;
- determine thickness of tissue of the anatomic structure based on the at least one image;
- and
- display an indication of the thickness on a graphical user interface.
6 more elements
A method, comprising:
- expanding an ablation electrode of a catheter from a compressed state to an uncompressed state, an inner portion of the ablation electrode in the uncompressed state enveloping at least one image sensor;
- positioning an outer portion of the ablation electrode at a treatment site in an anatomic structure, the outer portion of the ablation electrode opposite the inner portion of the ablation electrode;
- receiving at least one image of the treatment site from the at least one image sensor;
- and
- determining thickness of tissue of the anatomic structure based on the at least one image of the treatment site;
- and
- displaying an indication of the thickness on a graphical user interface.
