Abstract
The present disclosure provides a method for transmitting wireless power performed by a wireless power transmitter in a wireless power transmission system, and an apparatus using same, the method comprising: transmitting a capability packet for the wireless power transmitter to a wireless power receiver in a negotiation phase, wherein the capability packet includes information on whether out-of-band communication is supported; and transmitting an extended capability packet for the wireless power transmitter to the wireless power receiver in the negotiation phase, wherein the extended capability packet includes information about a communication method supported by the wireless power transmitter.
Claims20
A method for transferring a wireless power in a wireless power transfer system, the method performed by a wireless power transmitter and comprising:
- transmitting a capability packet for the wireless power transmitter to a wireless power receiver in a negotiation phase,
- wherein the capability packet includes information for whether out-of-band communication is supported;
- and
- transmitting an extended capability packet for the wireless power transmitter to the wireless power receiver in the negotiation phase,
- wherein the extended capability packet includes information for a communication method supported by the wireless power transmitter.
A wireless power transmitter, comprising:
- a converter related to transferring wireless power to a wireless power receiver;
- and
- a communicator/controller related to controlling the transfer of the wireless power,
- wherein the wireless power transmitter:
- transmits a capability packet for the wireless power transmitter to the wireless power receiver in a negotiation phase,
- wherein the capability packet includes information for whether out-of-band communication is supported;
- and
- transmits an extended capability packet for the wireless power transmitter to the wireless power receiver in the negotiation phase,
- wherein the extended capability packet includes information for a communication method supported by the wireless power transmitter.
A method for receiving wireless power in a wireless power transfer system, the method performed by a wireless power receiver and comprising:
- receiving a capability packet for a wireless power transmitter from the wireless power transmitter in a negotiation phase,
- wherein the capability packet includes information for whether out-of-band communication is supported;
- and
- receiving an extended capability packet for the wireless power transmitter from the wireless power transmitter in the negotiation phase,
- wherein the extended capability packet includes information for a communication method supported by the wireless power transmitter.
