Abstract
In a method of mesh decoding, a bitstream that includes prediction information of a plurality of vertices in a mesh frame is received. A prediction value of a current vertex of the plurality of vertices is determined based on (i) a value of the current vertex received in the bitstream and (ii) each distance between the current vertex and one or more neighboring vertices of the current vertex in the mesh frame. The current vertex is reconstructed based on the prediction value of the current vertex.
Claims20
A method of mesh decoding, comprising:
- receiving a bitstream that includes prediction information of a plurality of vertices in a mesh frame;
- determining a prediction value of a current vertex of the plurality of vertices based on (i) a value of the current vertex received in the bitstream and (ii) each distance between the current vertex and one or more neighboring vertices of the current vertex in the mesh frame;
- and
- reconstructing the current vertex based on the prediction value of the current vertex.
A method of mesh encoding, comprising:
- determining an initial prediction value of a current vertex of a plurality of vertices in a mesh frame based on (i) a value of the current vertex and (ii) each value of one or more neighboring vertices of the current vertex in the mesh frame;
- determining an updated prediction value of the current vertex based on (i) the initial prediction value of the current vertex and (ii) each distance between the current vertex and the one or more neighboring vertices of the current vertex in the mesh frame;
- and
- encoding the current vertex based on the updated prediction value of the current vertex into a bitstream.
A method of processing mesh data, the method comprising:
- processing a bitstream of the mesh data according to a format rule, wherein:
- the bitstream includes prediction information of a plurality of vertices in a mesh frame;
- and
- the format rule specifies that:
- a prediction value of a current vertex of the plurality of vertices is determined based on (i) a value of the current vertex received in the bitstream and (ii) each distance between the current vertex and one or more neighboring vertices of the current vertex in the mesh frame;
- and
- the current vertex is processed based on the prediction value of the current vertex.
