Abstract
Techniques are disclosed for initiating transient sessions on a communal device. An example method includes a receiving, from a media streaming device, a request for a session of a streaming service, the request associated with a user account. The method can further include determining that the user account is associated with the streaming service. The method can further include transmitting a session token to the media streaming device based at least in part on determining that the user account is associated with the streaming service, the session token comprising an expiration parameter for ending the session.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- receiving, by a computing system and from a media streaming device, a request for a session of a streaming service, the request associated with a user account;
- determining, by the computing system, that the user account is associated with the streaming service;
- and
- transmitting, by the computing system, a session token to the media streaming device based at least in part on determining that the user account is associated with the streaming service, the session token comprising an expiration parameter for ending the session.
A computing system, comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- one or more computer-readable media including instructions that, when executed, cause the one or more processors to:
- receive, from a media streaming device, a request for a session of a streaming service, the request associated with a user account;
- determine that the user account is associated with the streaming service;
- and
- transmit a session token to the media streaming device based at least in part on determining that the user account is associated with the streaming service, the session token comprising an expiration parameter for ending the session.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable media having stored thereon a sequence of instructions which, when executed, cause one or more processors to:
- receive, from a media streaming device, a request for a session of a streaming service, the request associated with a user account;
- determine that the user account is associated with the streaming service;
- and
- transmit a session token to the media streaming device based at least in part on determining that the user account is associated with the streaming service, the session token comprising an expiration parameter for ending the session.
