Temporary break glass account-based data center operations

A management node comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory comprising:
• a data center manager to:
• receive, from a user associated with a user account, a request to create a temporary break glass account, the request including a time period for accessing a data center resource;
• in response to receiving the request, create the temporary break glass account;
• notify credentials associated with the temporary break glass account to the user;
• and
• enable an operation on the data center resource via the temporary break glass account using the credentials;
• and
• a scheduler to delete the temporary break glass account in response to an expiration of a timer, wherein the timer is configured based on the time period.

A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium encoded with instructions that, when executed by a processor of a computing device, cause the processor to:

• receive, from a user associated with a user account, a request to create a temporary break glass account, the request including a time period for accessing a data center resource;
• in response to receiving the request, create the temporary break glass account;
• notify credentials associated with the temporary break glass account to the user;
• enable an operation on the data center resource via the temporary break glass account using the credentials;
• check validity of the temporary break glass account based on the time period;
• and
• delete the temporary break glass account in response to expiry of the validity of the temporary break glass account.
