Apparatus and method for driving display based on frequency operation cycle set differently according to frequency

A portable communication device comprising:

• a display;
• a memory including information on a first duty cycle and a second duty cycle corresponding to a first frequency and a second frequency of the display different from each other, respectively;
• and
• a processor configured to:
• perform an operation according to a first set of duty cycles corresponding to the first duty cycle configuration based at least in part on the display being operated at the first frequency;
• while the display is operated at the first frequency, detect an occurrence of a specified event at a duty cycle of the first set of duty cycles;
• based at least in part on the detecting, switch an operation frequency of the display from the first frequency to the second frequency after the duty cycle expires and before an entirety of the first set of duty cycles expires;
• and
• based at least in part on the display being switched to operate at the second frequency, perform the operation according a second set of duty cycles corresponding to the second duty cycle configuration and different from the first set of duty cycles.

An operating method of a portable communication device, the method comprising:

• performing an operation according to a first set of duty cycles corresponding to a first duty cycle configuration based at least in part on the display being operated at a first frequency;
• while the display is operated at the first frequency, detecting an occurrence of a specified event at a duty cycle of the first set of duty cycles;
• based at least in part on the detecting, switching an operation frequency of the display from the first frequency to a second frequency after the duty cycle expires and before an entirety of the first set of duty cycles expires;
• and
• based at least in part on the display being switched to operate at the second
• frequency, performing the operation according a second set of duty cycles corresponding to a second duty cycle configuration and different from the first set of duty cycles,
• wherein a memory of the portable communication device includes information on the first duty cycle and the second duty cycle corresponding to the first frequency and the second frequency of the display different from each other, respectively.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a portable communication device individually or collectively, cause the one or more processors to perform operations, the operations comprising:

• performing an operation according to a first set of duty cycles corresponding to a first duty cycle configuration based at least in part on the display being operated at a first frequency;
• while the display is operated at the first frequency, detecting an occurrence of a specified event at a duty cycle of the first set of duty cycles;
• based at least in part on the detecting, switching an operation frequency of the display from the first frequency to a second frequency after the duty cycle expires and before an entirety of the first set of duty cycles expires;
• and
• based at least in part on the display being switched to operate at the second
• frequency, performing the operation according a second set of duty cycles corresponding to a second duty cycle configuration and different from the first set of duty cycles,
• wherein the non-transitory computer-readable storage medium stores information on the first duty cycle and the second duty cycle corresponding to the first frequency and the second frequency of the display different from each other, respectively.
