Identification of load control devices

A method to configure an electric load control system that includes a system controller communicatively coupled to a plurality of electric load controllers, the method comprising:

• communicating by system control circuitry via first communications interface circuitry, a respective network address to each of the plurality of electric load controllers;
• wherein the first communication interface circuitry uses a first communication protocol;
• receiving by the system control circuitry via second communications interface circuitry, a network address identification request from a user device;
• wherein the second communication interface circuitry uses a second communication protocol different from the first communication protocol;
• communicating by the system control circuitry via the first communications interface circuitry, an instruction responsive to receipt of the network address identification request from the user device;
• wherein the instruction causes at least one of the plurality of electric load controllers to cause an electric load device operatively coupled to the respective electric load controller to produce a human perceptible output indicative of the network address assigned to the respective electric load controller;
• and
• receiving by the system control circuitry from the user device via the second communications interface circuitry, data representative of an identifier to assign to the respective electric load controller;
• and
• causing, by the system control circuitry, a storage of data representative of the association between the network address of the respective electric load controller and the identifier assigned to the respective electric load controller in the memory circuitry in a data structure.

A non-transitory, machine-readable, storage device that includes instructions that, when executed by system control circuitry disposed in a system controller communicatively coupled to a plurality of electric load controllers, cause the system control circuitry to:

• communicate via first communications interface circuitry, a respective network address to each of the plurality of electric load controllers;
• wherein the first communications interface circuitry uses a first communication protocol;
• receive via second communications interface circuitry, a network address identification request from a user device;
• wherein the second communications interface circuitry uses a second communication protocol different from the first communication protocol;
• communicate via the first communications interface circuitry, an instruction responsive to receipt of the network address identification request from the user device;
• wherein the instruction causes at least one of the plurality of electric load controllers to cause an electric load device operatively coupled to the respective electric load controller to produce a human perceptible output indicative of the network address assigned to the respective electric load controller;
• and
• receive from the user device via the second communications interface circuitry, data representative of an identifier to assign to the respective electric load controller;
• and
• cause a storage of data representative of the association between the network address of the respective electric load controller and the identifier assigned to the respective electric load controller in the memory circuitry in a data structure.
