Abstract
Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media are described for determining and/or coding attribute information in a point cloud frame. The attribute information may be encoded based on one or more attribute predictors. The attribute predictors may be determined based on projecting attributes of a reference point cloud frame onto a geometry of a current point cloud frame. The same attribute predictors may be omitted from the encoded bitstream and generated by a decode.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- determining, by a decoder and based on decoding geometry information of a point could frame associated with content, a reconstructed geometry of the point cloud frame;
- determining attribute predictors, associated with the reconstructed geometry, based on projecting attributes of a reference point cloud frame onto the reconstructed geometry;
- and
- decoding, based on the attribute predictors, attribute information of the reconstructed geometry.

A method comprising:
- determining, by an encoder, a reconstructed geometry of a point cloud frame associated with content;
- determining attribute predictors, associated with the reconstructed geometry, based on projecting attributes of a reference point cloud frame onto the reconstructed geometry;
- and
- encoding, based on the attribute predictors, attribute information associated with the reconstructed geometry.

A method comprising:
- determining, by a decoder and based on projecting attributes, of a reference point cloud frame, onto a geometry of a point cloud frame, attribute predictors associated with the geometry;
- receiving, from a bitstream, residual attributes indicating differences between the attribute predictors and attributes of the geometry;
- and
- decoding the residual attributes using the attribute predictors to determine attributes associated with the geometry of the point cloud frame.
