Abstract
A method for controlling a recycle process includes receiving a captured image of an item to be recycled; processing the image to determine if it is a genuine item for recycle; and if and only if it is determined to be a genuine article for recycle, storing a record of the item in a user account.

A method of recycling, comprising:
- upon a user associating themselves with a recycle bin having a unique identifier, accessing a stored record of the user, wherein the stored record comprises items for recycling;
- prompting the user to capture an image of an item for recycling;
- comparing the captured image with all items in the stored record;
- and
- if and only if there is a match based on the comparing, deleting the matched item from the record.

A method of enabling recycling, comprising:
- obtaining, from a user, a record of an item to be recycled;
- storing the record;
- and
- upon the user connecting with a recycle location and recycling the item, crediting an account of the user.
