Abstract
Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for identifying potential identity fraud by tracking a user's typical communication patterns. If a new communication is received from someone who purports to be a trusted user, but the communication exhibits communication traits that are not typical for the user, additional identity fraud prevention steps may be taken.

A method comprising:
- receiving, by a computing device and from a user device, a request to initiate a communication session, wherein the request comprises an identification of a user;
- determining, during the communication session, a frequency of punctuations in communications from the user device;
- comparing the frequency of punctuations in the communications to a textual linguistic profile associated with the user;
- determining, based on the comparing, an author confidence value;
- and
- requesting, during the communication session and based on the author confidence value, additional identification information from the user.
