Abstract
Disclosed are examples of a system that publishes metadata to a blockchain network. The metadata can contain properties of data generated by a system. The metadata can allow for other entities to validate or trust the data generated by the system. The metadata can include data attributes that profile the data.
Claims20
A system, comprising:
- a computing device comprising a processor and a memory;
- and
- machine-readable instructions stored in the memory that, when executed by the processor, cause the computing device to at least:
- send a request to a smart contract hosted by a first blockchain network for a configuration state for the computing device, the request comprising a device identifier for the computing device;
- receive the configuration state from the smart contract;
- apply the configuration state to the computing device;
- identify an event related to an application executed by the computing device;
- identify data generated by the event, wherein the data is accessible to the computing device;
- identify a data smart contract hosted by a second blockchain network that is specified by the configuration state, the data smart contract configured to store metadata corresponding to data generated by the event to the second blockchain network;
- and
- provide metadata corresponding to the data generated by the event to the data smart contract, wherein the data smart contract writes the metadata to the second blockchain network.

A method, comprising:
- sending a request to a smart contract hosted by a first blockchain network for a configuration state for the computing device, the request comprising a device identifier for the computing device;
- receiving the configuration state from the smart contract;
- applying the configuration state to the computing device;
- identifying an event related to an application executed by the computing device;
- identifying data generated by the event, wherein the data is accessible to the computing device;
- identifying a data smart contract hosted by a second blockchain network that is specified by the configuration state, the data smart contract configured to store metadata corresponding to data generated by the event to the second blockchain network;
- and
- providing metadata corresponding to the data generated by the event to the data smart contract, wherein the data smart contract writes the metadata to the second blockchain network.

A non-transitory, computer-readable medium, comprising machine-readable instructions that, when executed by a processor of a computing device, cause the computing device to at least:
- send a request to a smart contract hosted by a first blockchain network for a configuration state for the computing device, the request comprising a device identifier for the computing device;
- receive the configuration state from the smart contract;
- apply the configuration state to the computing device;
- identify an event related to an application executed by the computing device;
- identify data generated by the event, wherein the data is accessible to the computing device;
- identify a data smart contract hosted by a second blockchain network that is specified by the configuration state, the data smart contract configured to store metadata corresponding to data generated by the event to the second blockchain network;
- and
- provide metadata corresponding to the data generated by the event to the data smart contract, wherein the data smart contract writes the metadata to the second blockchain network.
