Abstract
Presented are intelligent vehicle control systems enabling external control of vehicles using cues, methods for making/using such vehicle control systems, and vehicles equipped with such control systems. A method of controlling operation of a vehicle includes a vehicle controller receiving a signal indicating the vehicle is in particular operating mode and, responsive to receiving a cue, determine if a command is executable and, if so, executing the command.
Claims20
A method of controlling a autonomously operable vehicle, comprising:
- receiving, by the vehicle, a signal indicating that the vehicle is controllable in one or more of a number of operating modes;
- receiving, by the vehicle, a cue to operate the vehicle in one or more of the number of operating modes;
- receiving, by the vehicle, a first command;
- determining, by the vehicle, whether the first command is executable;
- performing, by the vehicle, the first command after the vehicle determines that the first command is executable.
A vehicle controller configured to:
- receive a signal indicating that the vehicle is controllable in one or more of a number of operating modes, each operating mode defining a unique set of actions that the vehicle may perform;
- receive a cue to operate the vehicle in one or more of the number of operating modes;
- receive a first command;
- determine whether the first command is executable;
- perform the first command after the vehicle determines that the first command is executable.
Non-transitory, computer-readable media for storing instructions executable by one or more processors of a vehicle controller, causing the vehicle controller to perform operations comprising:
- receiving a signal indicating that the vehicle is controllable in one or more of a number of operating modes, each operating mode defining a unique set of actions that the vehicle may perform;
- receiving a cue to operate the vehicle in one or more of the number of operating modes;
- receiving a first command;
- determining whether the first command is executable;
- performing the first command after the vehicle determines that the first command is executable.
