Methods and systems for processing polynucleotides

A method, comprising:

• (a) co-partitioning (i) a plurality of beads and (ii) a plurality of cells into a plurality of droplets, wherein a droplet of the plurality of droplets comprises a bead of the plurality of beads and a cell of the plurality of cells, wherein the bead comprises a plurality of barcode molecules, and wherein a barcode molecule of the plurality of barcode molecules comprises a barcode sequence;
• and
• (b) within the droplet of the plurality of droplets:
• (i) subjecting the bead to conditions sufficient to degrade the bead, thereby releasing the plurality of barcode molecules from the bead into the droplet;
• and
• (ii) generating a barcoded molecule from the barcode molecule and an analyte from the cell, wherein the barcoded molecule comprises:
• (1) the barcode sequence or complement thereof;
• and (2) an element corresponding to the analyte.
