Abstract
Described herein are methods and devices for selective membrane-driven gas transfer.
Claims17
A method of selective membrane-driven gas transfer, the method comprising:
- providing a liquid to a conduit in a device, the device comprising:
- a first membrane layer:
- comprising a flexible polymeric film comprising a polysiloxane elastomer, and
- having a permeability coefficient through the flexible polymeric film for oxygen not less than about 500 Barrer, and for carbon dioxide not less than around 1000 Barrer, and
- a second non-membrane layer, at least a portion of which is directly bonded to at least a portion of the first membrane layer to form the conduit;
- and
- contacting the device with an atmosphere.

A selective membrane-driven gas transfer device comprising:
- a first membrane layer comprising a flexible polymeric film comprising a polysiloxane elastomer, and
- a second non-membrane layer directly bonded to at least a portion of the first membrane layer to form a conduit capable of containing a liquid media;
- wherein the permeability coefficient through the flexible polymeric film for oxygen is not less than about 500 Barrer, and for carbon dioxide is not less than around 1000 Barrer.
