Abstract
Methods and pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of choroidal neovascularisation are provided. In particular, a method of treating choroidal neovascularisation in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist is provided.
Claims19
A method of treating choroidal neovascularisation in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) antagonist, wherein the MR antagonist is administered to the subject in the form of micro or nanospheres.
A method of treating choroidal neovascularisation in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (MR antagonist), wherein the MR antagonist is administered to the subject in the form of micro or nanospheres containing 5-15% by weight of the MR antagonist.
A method of treating choroidal neovascularisation in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of combination of an anti-VEGF treatment and a mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) antagonist, wherein the MR antagonist is administered to the subject in the form of micro or nanospheres, and wherein the subject is non-responsive or insufficiently responsive to anti-VEGF treatment alone.
