Abstract
An example operation may include one or more of downloading a container image of a web service from a data store, wherein the web service is configured to be self-hosted, deploying a self-hosted copy of the web service within a container runtime of a local device based on execution of the downloaded container image, and modifying a domain name system (DNS) to include a mapping of the web service to a local network address of the self-hosted copy of the web service deployed in the container runtime.
Claims20
An apparatus comprising:
- a processor configured to
- download a container image of a web service from a data store, wherein the web service is configured to be self-hosted;
- deploy a self-hosted copy of the web service within a container runtime of a local device based on execution of the downloaded container image;
- and
- modify a domain name system (DNS) to include a mapping of the web service to a local network address of the self-hosted copy of the web service deployed in the container runtime.
A method comprising:
- downloading a container image of a web service from a data store, wherein the web service is configured to be self-hosted;
- deploying a self-hosted copy of the web service within a container runtime of a local device based on execution of the downloaded container image;
- and
- modifying a domain name system (DNS) to include a mapping of the web service to a local network address of the self-hosted copy of the web service deployed in the container runtime.
A computer program product comprising a computer readable storage medium having stored thereon instructions, that when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform:
- downloading a container image of a web service from a data store, wherein the web service is configured to be self-hosted;
- deploying a self-hosted copy of the web service within a container runtime of a local device based on execution of the downloaded container image;
- and
- modifying a domain name system (DNS) to include a mapping of the web service to a local network address of the self-hosted copy of the web service deployed in the container runtime.
