Abstract
An image pickup apparatus includes an optical system including a first substrate and a first optical element having refractive power disposed on the first substrate, and a light receiving element having a light receiving surface on which an image is formed by the optical system. A predetermined inequality is satisfied.

An image pickup apparatus comprising:
- an optical system including a first substrate and a first optical element having refractive power disposed on the first substrate;
- and
- a light receiving element having a light receiving surface on which an image is formed by the optical system,
- wherein the following inequality is satisfied:
- 0.2≤s/Rimmax≤1.1
- where s is a distance from an intersection of an optical axis of the optical system and the light receiving surface to a center of the light receiving surface, and Rimmax is a distance from a farthest position from the center of the light receiving surface to the center.
