Lidar device comprising a plurality of beam steering cells for steering a laser beam

A lidar device comprising:

• a laser emitting assembly comprising an emitter array, wherein the emitter array comprises a first emitter configured to emit a first laser beam and a second emitter configured to emit a second laser beam;
• and
• an optic assembly comprising a steering array, wherein the steering array comprises a first steering cell and a second steering cell,
• wherein the first steering cell comprises first nanopillars, wherein each first nanopillars has a width and a height, and neighboring nanopillars of the first nanopillars have a pitch therebetween, wherein at least one of the widths, heights, and the pitches of the first nanopillars is configured differently according to a first change rate,
• wherein the first steering cell is configured to steer the first laser beam in a first direction determined by the first change rate,
• wherein the second steering cell comprises second nanopillars, wherein each second nanopillars has a width and a height, and neighboring nanopillars of the second nanopillars have a pitch therebetween, wherein at least one of the widths, heights, and the pitches of the second nanopillars is configured differently according to a second change rate different from the first change rate,
• wherein the second beam steering cell is configured to steer the second laser beam in a second direction, different from the first direction, determined by the second change rate,
• wherein an intermediate layer is disposed between the optic assembly and the laser emitting assembly and the intermediate layer is optically transparent, and comprises an upper surface and a lower surface, and
• wherein the upper surface of the intermediate layer is configured to contact with the optic assembly and the lower surface of the intermediate layer is configured to contact with the laser emitting assembly such that the optic assembly is supported.
