A vehicle door assembly, comprising:

• a vehicle door, the vehicle door being provided with a handle groove;
• an unlocking assembly, the unlocking assembly being arranged in the vehicle door and configured to unlock the vehicle door;
• and
• a handle assembly, the handle assembly being arranged in the handle groove, the handle assembly including a handle and a first pivot shaft, the first pivot shaft being pivotally arranged in the handle groove, the handle being arranged on the first pivot shaft, and the handle having a retracted position and an unlocking position;
• wherein, when the handle is in the retracted position, the handle is located at the opening of the handle groove and does not protrude beyond the surface of the vehicle door;
• when the handle is in the unlocking position, the handle is located in the handle groove, and the handle is in contact with the unlocking assembly so as to drive the unlocking assembly to unlock the vehicle door under the action of an external force.
