Abstract
A data collection hub and method wherein a controller is configured to receive data from a plurality of sensors sensing conditions related to the performance of operations on cells by at least one instrument. A database stores the data from the plurality of sensors and the controller is configured to compare data from the plurality of sensors for a past operation with the data for a more recent operation.

A cell laboratory data collection hub for collecting cell data from at least one cell culture incubator connected in a network, comprising:
- a plurality of sensors including at least one sensor for sensing conditions in a laboratory, at least one sensor for sensing the identity of a material used in a cell operation in at least one cell culture incubator in the laboratory, at least one sensor for determining when a supply material container lid has been removed and replaced, at least one sensor for sensing when a supply material has been removed from refrigeration and replaced;
- a controller configured to receive data from the plurality of sensors and cell operation data relating to the status of cells being operated on in the at least one cell culture incubator;
- a database for archiving the cell operation data and the data from the plurality of sensors;
- and wherein the controller is configured to compare if a supply material has been properly maintained when results from a later test with the same material differs from the results in an earlier test.
