Abstract
A method for synthesizing a zeolite having an of MFI framework structure is provided. The method includes (i) preparing a reaction mixture comprising a source of aluminum, a source of silicon, a structure directing agent comprising 2,2-dipropylpentane-1-amine, a source of fluoride ions, and water; (ii) heating the reaction mixture under crystallization conditions including a temperature of from 100° C. to 200° C. for a time sufficient to form crystals of the aluminosilicate zeolite; and (iii) recovering the crystals of the aluminosilicate zeolite from the reaction mixture.
Claims14
A method of synthesizing an aluminosilicate zeolite of MFI framework type, the method comprising:
- (i) preparing a reaction mixture comprising a source of aluminum, a source of silicon, a structure directing agent (Q) comprising 2,2-dipropylpentane-1-amine, a source of fluoride ions (F), and water;
- (ii) heating the reaction mixture under crystallization conditions including a temperature of from 100° C. to 200° C. for a time sufficient to form crystals of the aluminosilicate zeolite;
- and
- (iii) recovering the crystals of the aluminosilicate zeolite from the reaction mixture.
An aluminosilicate zeolite of MFI framework type having, in its as-synthesized form, 2,2-dipropylpentane-1-amine cation within its pore structure.
An aluminosilicate zeolite of MFI framework type having, in its as-calcined form, a Constraint Index of from 5 to 9 and an iso-C4/n-C4 ratio of less than 1, as determined by the Constraint Index Test.
A process of converting an organic compound to a conversion product, the process comprising contacting the organic compound with a zeolite of MFI framework type having, in its as-calcined form, a Constraint Index of from 5 to 9 and an iso-C4/n-C4 ratio of less than 1, as determined by the Constraint Index Test.
