Abstract
Predictive brake prefill for emergency braking (e.g., using a computerized tool) is enabled. For example, a system can comprise a memory that stores computer executable components, and a processor that executes the computer executable components stored in the memory, wherein the computer executable components comprise a light determination component that determines whether a brake light of a leading vehicle indicates that the leading vehicle is engaged in a braking operation, and a brake prefill component that, based upon a determination that the brake light of the leading vehicle indicates that the leading vehicle is engaged in a braking operation, initiates a prefill for a braking system of a vehicle, other than the leading vehicle.
Claims20
A system, comprising:
- a memory that stores computer executable components;
- and
- a processor that executes at least one of the computer executable components that:
- determines whether a brake light of a leading vehicle indicates that the leading vehicle is engaged in a braking operation, wherein the determining comprises:
- in response to detecting an illumination of the brake light, determining whether the illumination of the brake light is associated with engagement of brakes of the leading vehicle in the braking operation or nighttime running light operation of the leading vehicle, comprising:
- in response to determining that a luminosity of the illumination satisfies a defined luminosity threshold, determining that the illumination is associated with the engagement of brakes of the leading vehicle;
- and
- in response to determining that the luminosity of the illumination does not satisfy the defined luminosity threshold, determining that the illumination is associated with the nighttime running light operation of the leading vehicle;
- and
- based upon a determination that the brake light of the leading vehicle indicates that the leading vehicle is engaged in the braking operation, initiates a prefill for a braking system of a vehicle, other than the leading vehicle.
A non-transitory machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:
- determining whether a brake light of a leading vehicle indicates that the leading vehicle is engaged in a braking operation, wherein the determining comprises:
- in response to detecting an illumination of the brake light, determining whether the illumination of the brake light is associated with engagement of brakes of the leading vehicle in the braking operation or nighttime running light operation of the leading vehicle, comprising:
- in response to determining that a luminosity of the illumination satisfies a defined luminosity threshold, determining that the illumination is associated with the engagement of brakes of the leading vehicle;
- and
- in response to determining that the luminosity of the illumination does not satisfy the defined luminosity threshold, determining that the illumination is associated with the nighttime running light operation of the leading vehicle;
- and
- based upon a determination that the brake light of the leading vehicle indicates that the leading vehicle is engaged in the braking operation, initiating a prefill for a braking system of a vehicle, other than the leading vehicle.
A method, comprising:
- determining, by a vehicle comprising a processor, whether a brake light of a leading vehicle indicates that the leading vehicle is engaged in a braking operation, wherein the determining comprises:
- in response to detecting an illumination of the brake light, determining whether the illumination of the brake light is associated with engagement of brakes of the leading vehicle in the braking operation or nighttime running light operation of the leading vehicle, comprising:
- in response to determining that a luminosity of the illumination satisfies a defined luminosity threshold, determining that the illumination is associated with the engagement of brakes of the leading vehicle;
- and
- in response to determining that the luminosity of the illumination does not satisfy the defined luminosity threshold, determining that the illumination is associated with the nighttime running light operation of the leading vehicle;
- and
- based upon a determination that the brake light of the leading vehicle indicates that the leading vehicle is engaged in the braking operation, initiating, by the vehicle, a prefill for a braking system of the vehicle, other than the leading vehicle.
