Abstract

A guide wire including a core shaft extending along a longitudinal direction from rear end side to a distal end side. The core shaft includes: a tapered portion having an outer diameter that increases toward the rear end side of the core shaft along the longitudinal direction; and a straight portion having a substantially constant outer diameter along the longitudinal direction. The straight portion is provided on a rear end side of the tapered portion.
