Hydrogel formulation used as vitreous substitute and production method thereof

Abstract

A hydrogel formulation is developed to be used in ophthalmological applications and as a vitreous substitute. More specifically, a hybrid hydrogel formulation including a cross-linked hyaluronic acid and collagen complex is provided. The hybrid hydrogel formulation can further include a sulfated glycosaminoglycan (sGAG) or ascorbic acid and/or an ascorbic acid derivative.
