Abstract
A phage dispensing method, phage dispensing apparatus a phage dispensing system configured to dispense a phage prescription. A dose calculation is performed using the patient weight, the target phage dose, a titer of a phage vial and a contaminant level of a phage vial to determine a dispensing set and associated dispensing volumes from phage vials stored in a phage storage apparatus. Storage locations and dose preparation instructions including respective dispensing volumes are provided to a pharmacist and a verification of the vials is performed to check the correct vials are removed from the phage storage apparatus.
Claims42
A computer implemented method for dispensing a phage treatment, the method comprising:
- receiving electronically phage information for a patient at a site for treatment, the phage information comprising one or more phage to be dispensed at the site;
- generating a dispensing set comprised of one or more phage vials stored in a phage storage apparatus by
- determining, for each phage in the phage information, one or more candidate phage vials in the phage storage apparatus that contain the respective phage;
- and
- providing a storage location for each of the one or more candidate phage vials in the dispensing set to generate the phage treatment for the patient at the site.

A phage dispensing apparatus comprising:
- at least one memory, and
- at least one processor, wherein the at least one memory comprises instructions to configure the at least one processor to:
- receive electronically phage information for a patient at a site for treatment, the phage information comprising one or more phage to be dispensed at the site;
- generate a dispensing set comprised of one or more phage vials stored in a phage storage apparatus by
- determining, for each phage in the phage information, one or more candidate phage vials in the phage storage apparatus that contain the respective phage;
- and
- provide a storage location for each of the one or more candidate phage vials in the dispensing set to generate a phage treatment for the patient at the site.

A non-transitory, computer program product comprising computer executable instructions for dispensing a phage treatment, the instructions executable by a computer to:
- receive electronically phage information for a patient at a site for treatment, the phage information comprising one or more phage to be dispensed at the site;
- generate a dispensing set comprised of one or more phage vials stored in a phage storage apparatus by
- determining, for each phage in the phage information, one or more candidate phage vials in the phage storage apparatus that contain the respective phage included in the phage information;
- and
- provide a storage location for each of the one or more candidate phage vials in the dispensing set to generate the phage treatment for the patient at the site.
