Abstract
An article of bedding includes a first section, a second section extending from the first section and a third section extending from the first section such that the third section is laterally adjacent to the second section. A first member projects laterally from the second section toward the third section. A second member projects laterally from the third section toward the second section. A junction joins the sections and the members. Edges of the members are joined such that the first member does not overlay any portion of the second member.
Claims22
An article of bedding comprising:
- a first section;
- a second section extending from the first section;
- a third section extending from the first section such that the third section is laterally adjacent to the second section;
- a first member projecting laterally from the second section toward the third section;
- a second member projecting laterally from the third section toward the second section;
- and
- a junction joining the sections and the members,
- wherein edges of the members are joined such that the first member does not overlay any portion of the second member.
A bedding system comprising:
- a mattress comprising:
- a first portion,
- a second portion extending from the first portion, and
- a third portion extending from the first portion such that the third portion is laterally adjacent to the second portion;
- and
- an article of bedding comprising:
- a first section configured to cover at least a portion of the first portion,
- a second section extending from the first section and configured to cover at least a portion of the second portion,
- a third section extending from the first section such that the third section is laterally adjacent to the second section, the third section being configured to cover at least a portion of the third portion,
- a first member projecting laterally from the second section toward the third section,
- a second member projecting laterally from the third section toward the second section,
- a junction joining the sections and the members,
- a first strap having a first end coupled to the second section and an opposite second end coupled to the first section, and
- a second strap having a first end coupled to the third section and an opposite second end coupled to the first section,
- wherein edges of the members are joined such that the first member does not overlay any portion of the second member, and
- wherein the fastener mitigates against shifting of the article of bedding during movement of the mattress.
An article of bedding comprising:
- a first section;
- a second section extending from the first section;
- a third section extending from the first section such that the third section is laterally adjacent to the second section;
- a first member projecting laterally from the second section toward the third section;
- a second member projecting laterally from the third section toward the second section;
- a junction joining the sections and the members;
- a first strap having a first end coupled to the second section and an opposite second end coupled to the first section;
- and
- a second strap having a first end coupled to the third section and an opposite second end coupled to the first section,
- wherein edges of the members are joined such that the first member does not overlay any portion of the second member,
- wherein the junction includes a patch,
- wherein the members are movable relative to one another to move the article of bedding between a first orientation in which a portion of an edge of the first member is spaced apart from a portion of an edge of the second member to define an aperture therebetween and a second orientation in which the portion of the edge of the first member engages the portion of the edge of the second member, and
- wherein the patch extends across the aperture when the article of bedding is in the first orientation.
A bedding system comprising:
- a mattress comprising:
- a first portion,
- a second portion extending from the first portion,
- a third portion extending from the first portion such that the third portion is laterally adjacent to the second portion;
- and
- a first article of bedding comprising:
- a first section configured to cover at least a portion of the first portion, a second section extending from the first section and configured to cover at least a portion of the second portion,
- a third section extending from the first section such that the third section is laterally adjacent to the second section, the third section being configured to cover at least a portion of the third portion,
- a first member projecting laterally from the second section toward the third section,
- a second member projecting laterally from the third section toward the second section,
- a junction joining the sections and the members, and
- a first fastener configured to mitigate against shifting of the first article of bedding during movement of the mattress;
- and
- a second article of bedding comprising:
- a first section configured to cover at least a portion of the first section of the first article of bedding,
- a second section extending from the first section of the second article of bedding and configured to cover at least a portion of the second section of the first article of bedding,
- a third section extending from the first section of the second article of bedding such that the third section of the second article of bedding is laterally adjacent to the second section of the second article of bedding, the third section of the second article of bedding being configured to cover at least a portion of the third section of the first article of bedding,
- a first member projecting laterally from the second section of the second article of bedding toward the third section of the second article of bedding, a second member projecting laterally from the third section of the second article of bedding toward the second section of the second article of bedding, a junction joining the sections of the second article of bedding and the members of the second article of bedding, and
- a second fastener configured to mitigate against shifting of the second article of bedding during movement of the first article of bedding and the mattress.
A bedding system comprising:
- a base comprising a frame and a platform coupled to the frame, the platform including a first panel and a second panel that is rotatable relative to the first panel;
- a mattress comprising:
- a first portion,
- a second portion extending from the first portion, and
- a third portion extending from the first portion such that the third portion is laterally adjacent to the second portion, the panels being positioned directly below one of the second portion and the third portion;
- and
- an article of bedding comprising:
- a first section configured to cover at least a portion of the first portion, a second section extending from the first section and configured to cover at least a portion of the second portion,
- a third section extending from the first section such that the third section is laterally adjacent to the second section, the third section being configured to cover at least a portion of the third portion,
- a first member projecting laterally from the second section toward the third section,
- a second member projecting laterally from the third section toward the second section,
- a junction joining the sections and the members,
- a first strap having a first end coupled to the second section and an opposite second end coupled to the first section, and
- a second strap having a first end coupled to the third section and an opposite second end coupled to the first section,
- wherein the second panel rotates relative to the first panel to move the mattress from a first orientation in which top surfaces of the second section and the third section are co-planar to a second orientation in which the top surface of the third section extends at an acute angle relative to the second section,
- wherein edges of the members are joined such that the first member does not overlay any portion of the second member, and
- wherein the fastener mitigates against shifting of the article of bedding during movement of the mattress.
