Abstract
A telecommunications assembly includes a chassis and a plurality of modules removably mounted within the chassis. The modules include one or more fiber optic signal input locations. The modules include optical equipment for splitting the input signals into customer output signals.
Claims15
A telecommunications assembly comprising:
- A. a chassis defining at least one mounting location for slidably receiving a telecommunications module;
- and
- B. a telecommunications module inserted into the at least one mounting location of the chassis, the telecommunications module comprising:
- i. a housing including a signal output location;
- ii. an optical component located within the housing, the optical component configured to receive a fiber optic input signal coming in from a signal input location of the housing and output a fiber optic output signal going toward the signal output location of the housing;
- and
- iii. a cable exit structure defining a top wall and a bottom wall, the cable exit structure defining the signal output location of the housing, the cable exit structure defining a unitary structure extending at least a majority of a height defined between a top wall and a bottom wall of the housing, the telecommunications module further comprising integrally formed crimp holders extending in a stacked arrangement generally between the top wall and the bottom wall of the housing for holding crimped ends of cables extending from the optical component toward the cable exit structure.
A telecommunications module according to claim 11, wherein the flexible latch of the telecommunications module is defined adjacent the top wall of the housing, the telecommunications module further including a fixed handle adjacent the bottom wall of the housing opposite the flexible latch.
A telecommunications module comprising:
- a housing including a signal output location;
- an optical component located within the housing, the optical component configured to receive a fiber optic input signal coming in from a signal input location of the housing and output a fiber optic output signal going toward the signal output location of the housing;
- and
- a cable exit structure defining a top wall and a bottom wall, the cable exit structure defining the signal output location of the housing, the cable exit structure defining a unitary structure extending at least a majority of a height defined between a top wall and a bottom wall of the housing;
- wherein the telecommunications module further comprises a flexible latch for mounting to a telecommunications fixture with a snap-fit interlock, the telecommunications module further comprising integrally formed crimp holders extending in a stacked arrangement generally between the top wall and the bottom wall of the housing for holding crimped ends of cables extending from the optical component toward the cable exit structure.
