Abstract

A sealing device, in particular a sealing head, for a sealing of a container (12a; 12e) includes at least one sealing tool (34a; 34b; 34c; 34d; 34e; 34f; 34g; 34h; 34i), which forms a ring-shaped sealing zone for physical contact with the container (12a; 12e), and includes at least one ceramic heating unit (36a; 36b; 36c; 36d; 36e; 36f; 36g; 36h; 36i) for heating the sealing zone which generates a sealing. The ceramic heating unit (36a; 36b; 36c; 36d; 36e; 36f; 36g; 36h; 36i) includes a heating conductor, which is in a heating region of the ceramic heating unit (36a; 36b; 36c; 36d; 36e; 36f; 36g; 36h; 36i) surrounded at least substantially completely by a thermally conductive ceramic base body (40a, 42a; 40b, 42b; 40c, 42c; 40d, 42d; 40e, 42e; 40f, 42f; 40g, 42g; 40h; 40i, 46i) of the ceramic heating unit (36a; 36b; 36c; 36d; 36e; 36f; 36g; 36h; 36i).
