Dental post and dental implant

A dental implant comprising a dental post with a longitudinal shaft, the shaft comprising:

• a) a cylindrical or conical outer surface,
• b) a central axis,
• c) a first end,
• d) a second end,
• e) at least one connection element located on the second end,
• f) a first portion extending from the first end towards the second end along a first defined length, the first portion comprising at least one retaining structure to securely anchor the shaft in the bore, the at least one retaining structure protruding from the outer surface by a first distance,
• g) a second portion extending from the second end towards the first portion, the second portion comprising at least one circumferential protrusion having a first flank facing towards the first end and extending from the outer surface to a cusp located at a second distance from the outer surface, the second distance being larger than the first distance, the at least one protrusion including a second flank facing towards the second end and extending from the cusp to the outer surface, and the second flank being substantially flat from the cusp towards the outer surface and the second flank being inclined at a first angle of from 20° to 50° relative to the central axis in a radial plane including the central axis;
• and
• wherein an abutment is connected to the second end of the shaft by means of the at least one connection element and wherein a dental crown is connected to the abutment.

A dental implant comprising a dental post with a longitudinal shaft, the longitudinal shaft comprising:

• a) a cylindrical or conical outer surface,
• b) a central axis,
• c) a first end,
• d) a second end,
• e) an abutment structure located on the second end,
• f) a first portion extending from the first end towards the second end along a first defined length, the first portion comprising at least one retaining structure to securely anchor the shaft in the bore, the at least one retaining structure protruding from the outer surface by a first distance,
• g) a second portion extending from the second end towards the first portion, the second portion comprising at least one circumferential protrusion having a first flank facing towards the first end and extending from the outer surface to a cusp located at a second distance from the outer surface, the second distance being larger than the first distance, the at least one protrusion including a second flank facing towards the second end and extending from the cusp to the outer surface, the second flank being substantially flat from the cusp towards the outer surface and the second flank being inclined at a first angle of from 20° to 50° relative to the central axis in a radial plane including the central axis;
• and
• wherein a dental crown is connected to the abutment structure.
