Laundry compositions comprising α-guaiene and the use of α-guaiene for the enhancement of the intensity of a fragrance.

A method of enhancing the observed intensity of a fragrance composition on a fabric, which fragrance composition has been added to a fabric by incorporating the fragrance composition into a laundry composition to which the fabric has been exposed during a wash cycle, comprising adding to the fragranced laundry composition a fragrance intensity-enhancing proportion of α-guaiene.
A fragranced laundry composition comprising a laundry composition base, a fragrance composition and a fragrance intensity-enhancing proportion of α-guaiene, wherein the laundry composition comprises 800-15000 ppm of the α-guaiene.
A fragrance composition comprising α-guaiene wherein the fragrance composition is essentially free of patchouli alcohol.
