Methods and apparatus to associate geographic locations with user devices

A computing system comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, having stored thereon program instructions that, upon execution by the processor, cause performance of a set of operations comprising:
• obtaining, at a server of an audience measurement entity, media identifying information associated with a user viewing media content on a mobile device;
• storing the media identifying information;
• determining that the user viewed media content on the mobile device using a cellular network;
• querying a third-party database associated with the cellular network for a location of the mobile device;
• obtaining, at the server of the audience measurement entity, the location of the mobile device;
• and
• storing the location in association with the media identifying information.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, having stored thereon program instructions that, upon execution by a processor, cause performance of a set of operations comprising:

• obtaining, at a server of an audience measurement entity, media identifying information associated with a user viewing media content on a mobile device;
• storing the media identifying information;
• determining that the user viewed media content on the mobile device using a cellular network;
• querying a third-party database associated with the cellular network for a location of the mobile device;
• obtaining, at the server of the audience measurement entity, the location of the mobile device;
• and
• storing the location in association with the media identifying information.
